Early in October 2005, Orange Twin members were told that the
house at 163 Jonas St. in Athens, Ga was to be demolished, and that we could have the house if it
could be moved within 30 days. We sprang into action and the house was moved by the end of that
month. Since then we've repainted the exterior and begun establishing a presence in the immediate surroundings of the house.
The garden has consistently grown over the past 3 years and we are currently home to 26 chickens, a hive of bees and a duck! Having the farm house has
been key in creating a central location on the land for meeting and organizing projects. We hope to begin hosting volunteer workdays with greater
frequency!
